What a wonderful post! And happy is the man who gets to bask in the sunshine that is Joe Wilder, much and properly beloved. Great work, Marc!

The encounter between the young Joe Wilder and Mrs. Trumbauer is one of THE great jazz stories. If you put that in a novel, your editor (if he or she were a jazz fan) might say, "Very nice, but don't you think that's a bit too much?"
