David

I haven't made it through all of the earlier DeFranco pieces yet, so this may have already been mentioned: There's a great DeFranco/Blakey album from '64 called "Blues Bag." This also features Vic Feldman, Victor Sproles, and, on some cuts, Lee Morgan and Curtis Fuller. The interaction between these guys is very dynamic. Buddy plays mostly bass clarinet, and sounds fabulous on that instrument. Nice selection of tunes as well.
