Just weeks before his death September 15, 1980, pianist Bill Evans performed at the Molde Jazz Festival in Norway. Accompanying him in early August were Marc Johnson on bass and Joe LaBarbera on drums.
It appears someone generously posted a crystal clear clip of the set a month ago at YouTube—with the trio playing Re: Person I Knew, Days of Wine and Roses and Your Story and Nardis. There's also an after-concert interview.
While Evans's voice is clear and he is highly articulate (and awfully polite, given the banal questions), he looks terribly haggard. You'll find the video here, including one of the most beautiful introductions to The Days of Wine and Roses...
You'll find a transcript of the interview at Jan Stevens's BillEvansWebPages here.
