Don't forget, Lester may have been born in Mississippi, but he was raised in Algiers, just across the river by ferry from New Orleans.

If that city had any promotional sense, they'd be claiming him as one of their own as well they should. He's Creole to the bone and his aesthetic was sparked by his exposure to that ultra deep well of music known as the Big Easy.
