Video: Sonny Stitt in 1982

Tenor saxophonist Sonny Stitt was always a soulful ballad player. To read my earlier post on Stitt's ballads between 1949 and '52 for Prestige, go here. In January 1982, just six months before his death, Stitt was on tour in Copenhagen. Among the songs he performed was I Can't Get Started. Absolutely gorgeous. He was backed by pianist Kenny Drew, bassist Mads Vinding and drummer Aage Taangaard.
