George, today, is the founder and president of the Rising Jazz Stars Foundation, a nonprofit that owns Resonance Records, where he's the label's executive producer and audio engineer. Back in 1966, he was head of the jazz department at Columbia University's WKCR-FM, where he interviewed Evans during a pivotal year in Evans's career. [Photo above of George Klabin]

The tapes would be used for a double album issued on Resonance in 2012.
