There are air checks of Stan sitting in with Count Basie at Birdland in the ‘50s. He sounds uncannily Lestorian. My favorite John Coltrane quote: “We would all sound like Stan if we could.”
I just heard and saw all your clips. Marvellous 👍. Thanks for that selection, Marc. Interesting: The musicians in the 1970 video from the Jazzhouse Montmartre Mike Payne (p), Ron Mathewson (b) and Spike Wells (d) are the same which Tubby Hayes worked with in 1969/1970.
I saw Stan Getz only once in concert: At the Northsea Jazzfestival in The Hague, Netherlands, July 14th, 1990. I wouldn't have thought that a year later he would no longer be among us.

(Whatever Lola wants) Stan Getz: My favorite tenor saxman.
That can't be him with the "tash" and a cigatette hanging from his lips?
A superb talent.
