His new, previously unheard Resonance Records release is one of the pianist's finest ever

From March 17th to the 21st in 1976, the Ahmad Jamal Trio appeared at the Jazz Showcase in Chicago, a club that is still in operation. Pianist Jamal was backed by bassist John Heard and drummer Frank Gant. On the 20th and 21st, their performance was taped by the club’s owner, Joe Segal, with Jamal’s permission.
