Great lockjaw. I was there. The Arvanitas trio was the first call to accompany the visiting soloists in France. I saw them , among many others, with Anita O' Day, Pepper Adams, Clifford Jordan and even the free tenor Frank Wright. At the end of the concert, when the musicians were leaving, I saw Lockjaw paying compliments to bassist Jacky Samson , adding after he left " I really meant it".
What a great informative weekend post đ. As I write this reply, I hear the Max Roach birthday broadcast on WKCR in the background.
I'm always curious about your streaming tips and I'll put these always on my watching list. I watched "Uncut Gems" with Adam Sandler, which you recommended recently.
"The Crown" is one of the best TV series in my opinion. I didn't want to watch at first because I'm not that interested in the English royal family. But after I watched the six seasons, I thought by myself: "Wonderful great television". One of the many highlights for me was the actress Gillian Anderson, who played Margaret Thatcher in the later seasons simply stunningly.
By the way, I love my WSJ subscription very much. If anyone thinks that the subscription might be very expensive, go and visit the website. They always have good offers there đ. As a fan of a paper newspaper, it's great to read the epaper on my tablet.
I just read the interview with Jaden Evans again and now I'm really looking forward to stream the live concert from Los Angeles next Sunday. Because they will play at 2 p.m. local time, I can see the stream here in Berlin at 11 p.m. A good time to see a live concert đē. Great that Chuck Israels and Joe LaBarbera will join Jaden Evans.
Tomorrow I will listen to your Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis link.
Have a great weekend, Marc. And the same of course to all here in the JazzWax family.
Youâre most kind, Christian. Gillian was outstanding as Thatcher. Especially her interactions with the Queen. Glad youâre enjoying the WSJ and, of course, JazzWax.
Thanks for mentioning. Alas, I am at work and cannot stream it. âšī¸

Wonderful story, Nicolas! Lucky you!
