Looking back this past week, I counted eight events that had the biggest impact on me growing up in the 1960s. Don’t get me wrong, plenty of mindblowing events took place since the ‘60s that left a mark on younger generations. These include the arrival of the CD and VHS formats and players in the 1980s; the personal computer and AOL Mail in the 1990s; the iPod, iTunes and the high-speed modem in the early 2000s; the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers in New York on Sept. 11, 2001; and the launch of the iPhone in 2007.
