On March 31, 1965, at the height of Beatlemania in the U.S., guitarist Grant Green recorded a jazz rendition of the Fab Four’s 1964 hit, I Want to Hold Your Hand. What makes this album special isn’t the Lennon-McCartney track set to a light bossa rhythm. It’s Green’s backing band.
