Jimmy Wyble isn’t a name familiar to most jazz fans. Born in Port Arthur, Texas, the guitarist began his career playing Western swing with Bob Willis and His Texas Playboys. After he served in the Army during World War II, Wyble continued in Western swing bands but soon gravitated to jazz in Los Angeles and eventually studio work.
