Lalo Schifrin: 'Gillespiana,' 1960 and 1996
On day No. 4 of "Suite Week," the original recording and the composer's update
Trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie gave Lalo Schifrin his first big break. To show his love and appreciation, Lalo wrote Gillespie a suite in 1959 called Gillespiana.
