What a wonderful piece about Juliette Gréco AND about your parents! Now we all know why Marc is spelled with a 'C' and not a 'K' 🙂. I have always followed Juliette Gréco's career and even saw her in concert three times. The last time right here in Berlin in November 2015. One of my favorite French male singers is Gilbert Bécaud, who lived from 1927 to 2001. I have also great concert memories of him from November 1987 and Mai 2000.
Wonderful post today, Marc with a C. I fell into the stereotype, only knowing her thru association with Miles. Her story is just as fascinating. I must do some listening, shame on me. Very informative, and I love the clip of their reunion. You rarely see Miles’s face light up like that.
Media people were always asking Miles stupid things. It’s a wonder he remained civil at all. There is a clip of him on a local Philadelphia show, where they ask him to evaluate young trumpet players. Dumb. Miles ignores the whole thing, and asks who the organ player is in the house band. “He’s good.” Turns out it is Joey DeFrancesco!
My pleasure, Bruno. As an original, you know I prefer to steer clear of me and keep posts on the music. But this time it seemed the only way to explain why French pop singers should matter to me. Thanks for your kind words.

Hi Christian. Thanks for your kind words. Yes, the secret is out. Ha! Lucky you. Wish I’d had a chance to interview her.
Fascinating to read about your parents background and story of Juliette. Viewed every link! thanks for all the info, Marc.
Now I’m yearning to learn any possible updates about the forthcoming film of “Miles & Juliette”, first announced a year ago.
Thanks for your kind words, Bill. so glad you enjoyed. Dunno. Dreadful, I'm sure.

Glad you enjoyed Peter. Yes re Miles. Almost submissive and was on the verge of being a nice guy until the host asked him to do something stupid.

I think it was to get him pissed so they'd get publicity. Too dumb to be dumb.
Having followed Jazz Wax the past 15 years I appreciate your sharing of your family history Marc..thank you ..
