I have the lifetime goal of finally visiting Wales in 2027. There is the village of Coppock, which is my namesake. Very soulful people from Dylan Thomas to Tom Jones originate from there. I have eagerly ordered the new recording. When I met Kenny Barron a few years ago, I recalled hearing a Terry Gross interview with Stan Getz in which Stan stated that Kenny was the best pianist he ever worked with. When I told Kenny this his eyes grew very big. That made me happy to say the least.
Oh, how I love these Elemental Music/Resonance Records releases. The double-CD set is already on my list and I'm really looking forward this "new" Kenny Barron release. And I'm sure the liner notes will be fantastic again, too.

Yes. I flipped a coin one morning in London after my month in Wales. Heads would be Paris, tail would be Denmark. It was tails. Off to Denmark by boat, across the country to Copenhagen, where I spent a few days. Then down to Hamburg for four days and across to Gronau and then Amsterdam for five days. Never took a single trip on a bus or train. Just 107 lifts, rain or shine. An amazing adventure.

The recordings with Kenny Barron were the best ones Stan Getz made. Thanks Marc for letting us know about this new album from a living master.
